Jo Ann Welborn Byrd

Mrs. Jo Ann Welborn Byrd, age 67, of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Byrd was born August 8, 1951 in Wilkes County to E.J. and Hattie Utt Welborn.

Mrs. Byrd was retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

Survivors include: her husband, Wayne Byrd of the home; daughters, Becky Martin and husband Bobby of Thurmond; Amy Renegar and husband Lane of Hamptonville; sisters, Barbara Billings and husband J.D. of Hamptonville, Peggy Lyon and husband Curtis of Hamptonville; sister-in-law, June Miller and husband Lonnie of State Road; grandchildren, Brandon Payne, Andrea Payne; several nieces and nephews; caregivers, Betty Jordan and Amanda Hutchens.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Keith Foster officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
