Michael Randolph Brooks

Mr. Michael Randolph “Randy” Brooks, age 44, of Dobson passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Randy was born February 19, 1974 in Surry County to Michael Wayne and Nancy Watson Brooks.

Randy was a member of Gid Branch Baptist Church, owner of Brooks Pressure Washing, and a mechanic and driver for Southland Transportation. He many friends with whom he enjoyed working, hunting, fishing, and 4 wheeling.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sam and Pearl Brooks; and aunt, Tammy Watson.

Survivors include: his devoted loving wife of 25 ½ years, Kimberly Brooks of the home; son, Derek Brooks of the home; daughter, LeighAnne Brooks of the home; mother, Nancy Watson Brooks of Dobson; brothers, Timmy Brooks of Dobson, Bobby Brooks of Dobson; Kim’s niece, a special little girl, Gracie; best friends, Darren Grey and family, Jeff Kinton and family; and his dogs, Bubba and J.B.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, February 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Gid Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Tanner Wood and Rev. Danny Royal officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kinsley and the staff at Woltz Hospice Home; special close friends, Sharon Bledsoe and Patty Kafafy; and all the staff at the nursing facilities and hospitals that cared for Randy during his illness. They would also like to thank all the family and friends for their love and care and Terry Brown at Terry’s Café for allowing Kim to care for Randy.
