Annie Mae Slawter

Mrs. Annie Mae Slawter, age 88, of State Road passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born August 31, 1930 in Surry County. Annie was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Deep Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Slawter was preceded in death by her mother, Lizzie Mae Snow; her husband, Elbert Franklin Slawter; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Slawter; her granddaughter Brittany Slawter; one sister, Thelma Carter; and three brothers, Chester, William, and Ervin Snow.

Survivors include: sons, Michael Slawter of State Road, Danny Slawter and wife Joy also of State Road, and Mark Slawter and wife Lisa of Elkin; daughters, Jessica Boing and husband Mike of Winston-Salem, and Judy Cleary and husband Darryl of Mt. Airy; grandchildren Conor Boing and wife Jennifer of Raleigh, Matthew Slawter of Elkin, Paige Slawter of Elkin, Rachel Boing and husband Luke of Asheville, Presley Macemore and husband Dustin of State Road, and David Slawter of Elkin; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Luke, Mark, Anna Kate, Sadie, Kolson, Catalina, and Camilla.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Avery Branch, and Elder Gary Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
