Roy Baker

Mr. Roy Baker, age 74, of Traphill passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born June 29, 1944 in Surry County to Marion and Mamie Cheek Baker.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Marshall Baker; brothers, Arvil Baker, Grady Baker, George Baker; sisters, Betty Lou Ashley, and Dorothy Jester.

Survivors include; his wife, Bonnie H. Baker of the home; sons, David Baker and wife Carol of East Bend, Chris Baker and wife Jill of Traphill; sisters, Pauline Mooney and husband Jerry, Margaret Sneed and husband Herbie, Barbara St. John; grandchildren, Selena Baker, Ethan Baker, and Lucas Baker.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, PO Box 130 State Road, NC 28676 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
