Edna Shore Gentry

Mrs. Edna Shore Gentry, age 93, of State Road passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018. She was born July 25, 1925 in Surry County to Miles David and Sethia Sparks Shore.

Mrs. Gentry was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stancil Gentry; special son-in-law, Thomas Mooney; brother, Miles David Shore, Jr.; sisters, Lorene Davis and husband Robert, and Dorothy Adams and husband Richard.

Survivors include: her daughter, Nancy G. Mooney of State Road; sister, Pauline Pruitt; special nephew, Scott Shore; grandson, Charles Lee Mooney and wife Theressa; great grandson, Jesse Lee Mooney; and several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
