Juanita M Royal

Mrs. Juanita Mae Royal, age 95 and 10 months, of State Road passed away Thursday, December 06, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home. She was born February 4, 1923 in Forsyth County to O.K. Peck and Gladys Maxey Peck Hicks.

Mrs. Royal was a member of Liberty Knob Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Royal; grandsons, Jeremy Call, Stephen Lyon, Rodney Richardson; step father, William Everett Hicks, Sr.; brothers, William Hicks, Jr., Thomas Hicks; three infant brothers; sisters, Edna H. Sidden, and Barbara H. Bennett.

Survivors include: sons, Walter Harold Royal and wife Pat of Lewsiville, Dennis Nathan Royal of Lexington; daughters, Evelyn Templeton Royal and husband James of State Road, Nancy Royal Overcash and husband Elder Wayne Overcash of Statesville, Carolyn Royal Call of Statesville, Kathy Royal Poindexter of Hamptonville; brother, James Henry Hicks, Sr. and wife Mona of Traphill; sisters, Geraldine Hicks Bowers of Timberlake, Mary Hicks Hutchinson and husband Jimmy of Traphill; 10 grandchildren, Neil Lyon, Michael Lyon, Mary Hunnicutt, Amanda Allen, Tracy Overcash, Lorie Parker, Jana Eldreth, Crystal Hughes, Shannon Brendle, Ashley Royal; 23 Great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Wayne Overcash, Rev. Mark Wood, and Elder Gib Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
