Annie Ray

Mrs. Annie Southard Ray, age 86, of Elkin passed away Thursday, December 5, 2018 at Pruitt Health. She was born June 9, 1932 in Surry County to Dixie and Myrtle Wall Southard.

Mrs. Ray was a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Brett Ray.

Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, Tom Ray, of the home; son, Rex Brett Ray of Elkin; and granddaughter, Madison Ann Wheeler.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. John McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Elkin Funeral Service.
