Ruby Barker

Mrs. Ruby Helen Casey Barker, age 100, of Elkin Passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She was born May 6, 1918 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Mary Belle Cheatwood Casey.

Mrs. Barker was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Barker; daughter, Reba Haynes; brothers, Ira Casey, Sam Casey; sisters, Stella Sparks, Kathlene Casey, Connie Pipes; and grandson, Archie Barker.

Survivors include; sons, Fred Barker and wife Olivia of Roaring River, Phillip Barker and wife Susan of North Wilkesboro; daughters, Wanda West and husband Larry of Elkin, Janette Crump of Elkin; brothers, Billy Casey and wife Mildred of Traphill, Carl Casey and wife Betty of Traphill; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church with Rev. James Hall and Rev. Keith Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Oak Level Baptist Church Building Fund, 5827 Austin Little Mountain Rd, Roaring River, NC 28669.
