Mittie Katherine Day

Mrs. Mittie Katherine Day, age 92, of Elkin passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 21, 1926 in Davie County to Ernest and Beulah Forest Myers.

Mrs. Day was a member of No Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Efird Day; son, Lonnie Gray Reynolds; and sister, Minnie Holloway.

Survivors include: her son Roy Lee Reynolds and wife Sandra of Elkin; daughters, Georgia Annette Smith and husband Steve of Advance; Carolyn Katherine Everhart and husband Gilbert of Elkin; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Day Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
