Nellie Burcham

Mrs. Nellie Caudle Burcham, age 78, of State Road passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 in her home. She was born August 7, 1940 in Surry County to Ernest and Lydia Luffman Caudle.

Mrs. Burcham was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for over 20 years. She graduated as Valedictorian from East Wilkes High School Class of 1958. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper, and substitute teacher for Wilkes County Schools for many years. She was also a Mary Kay beauty consultant for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 58 years, Jacob Burcham of the home; son, Mark Wayne Burcham and wife Kristie of State Road; daughters, Pamela Burcham McLean and husband Mike of State Road, Kay Burcham Trivette and husband Larry of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Faith Trivette of Jonesville, Lydia Burcham of Raleigh, and James Burcham of State Road.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
