Carl David Turner

Carl David Turner, age 80, of State Road passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was born August 15, 1938 in Yadkin County to Thurmond R. and Flora Joyce Carlton Turner.

David was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was also the owner of Turner Sharpening Service. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Turner, and his sister Margaret Turner.

Survivors include: his wife; Merele Turner of the home, Brothers; Larry Turner and wife Vickie of Lakeland Fla., and Robin W. Turner and wife Janet of Jonesville, Sisters Betty Macy and husband I.W. of Jonesville, and Ann Nichols of St. Road, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Service will be conducted Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway and Dr. Larry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
