James A Martin

Mr. James “Jimmy” Alan Martin, age 67, of Thurmond passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Pruitt Health Care in Elkin. He was born September 6, 1951 in Surry County to William “Reece” and Judith Norman Martin.

Mr. Martin was a member of Central Full Gospel Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Iris Martin.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda R. Martin, of the home; sons, John Martin and wife Jaimie of Thurmond, James A. Martin, Jr. and wife Kathleen Bryant of Boonville; sisters, Karen Howard and husband Johnny of Thurmond, Annette Martin of Thurmond; grandchildren, Kaybree Martin, Kaydence Martin, Danielle Bryant, Deanna Bryant; great-grandchild, Braxton Bryant.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Central Full Gospel Church with Rev. Bobby Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
