Mrs. Chloe Rosemary Holland Johnson, age 97, of Elkin passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 in her home. She was born March 19, 1921 in Washington County, Tennessee to James Edward and Anna Mae Duncan Holland.
She was a homemaker and member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Joel Grant Johnson; four brothers; and two sisters.
“We the children, promise to always remember the love that was shown to us by our father and mother”.
Survivors include: daughters, Pat Anthony and husband Clyde of Roswell, GA; Hilda Combs and husband Stan of Elkin; brother, Rev. John Holland of Knoxville, TN; sister, Carolyn Strunk of Louisville, TN, two grandchildren, Neal Anthony and wife Eve of Athens, GA, Michelle Balachowski and husband Brian of Marietta, GA; and three great grandchildren, Lily Anthony, Tyler Balachowski, and Anslee Balachowski.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Johnny Blevins, Rev. David Key, and Rev. John Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Ln, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
