Joann Reece

JoAnn Transou Reece, age 80, of Elkin passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 9, 1938 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Zethria Lyons Transou.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Robin Edwards; and brother, Leeman Transou.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Sanford Reece of the home; sister Colleen Huffstickler of Statesville; granddaughter, Heather Schandelmeier and husband Cody of Elkin; and great- grandchild Skylar Schandelmeier.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
