Jeff Prevette

Mr. David Jeffrey “Jeff” Prevette, age 63, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Prevette was born in Surry County on June 16, 1954 to Roy Lee and Ola Jean Cockerham Prevette.

Mr. Prevette was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin and former owner of Roy’s Restaurant. He  was a loving and outgoing husband, father, and grandfather who had a love for music, cooking, the mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Mr. Prevette was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors inclue: his loving wife of 35 years, Sherry Prevette of the home; daughters, Nicole Prevette and fiancé Mark Norman of Elkin; Tiffany Prevette and fiancé Will Hinson of Elkin; brother, Roy Lee Prevette and his wife Sharon of Winston Salem; sisters, Mary Jane Prevette of Winston-Salem; Kim Caballero and husband Herman of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Joshua David Shinault, Alyssa Marie Collier, Autumn Gail Collier, Alexis Ann Collier, Austin Tyler Hinson, and Nathaniel Blake Hinson.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elkin with Dr. Bill Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Elkin, 110 Gwyn Ave, Elkin, NC 28621.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and the first responders of Elkin for the care shown to Mr. Prevette. Daughters Tiffany and Nicole would like to give a special thank you to their mother for her loving care of their father.
