Eddie Franklin Day

Mr. Eddie Franklin Day, age 69, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Eddie was born June 28, 1948 in Surry County to Johnie and Thelma Parks Day.

Eddie was a sales and marketing director for Chatham Manufacturing and retied as the director of Wilkes County Schools Stone Center.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and past member of the Elkin Rescue Squad and Pleasant Hill Fire Department. Eddie was a member of Wilkes Kiwanis Club and was a host family for Ebenezer’s Children’s Home.  Eddie enjoyed participating in the Lunch Buddies Program for Wilkes County Schools and volunteered at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, Tammy Day of the home, two daughters, Kristy Reece of Pfafftown, Jennifer Somers of Hamptonville, three grandchildren, Jake Reece, Jackson Reece, Reagan Somers, a brother-in-law, Tommy Spicer of Traphill, two special nieces, Sarah Spicer and Katie Spicer and a special cousin, Robbie Day.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds and Rev. Joe Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
