Bonnie Jane Hoosier

Mrs. Bonnie Jane Hoosier-Porter, age 79, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018.  Mrs. Hoosier was born April 6, 1939 in Wilkes County to Vestal and Mae Parks Hoosier.

Mrs. Hoosier was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and foster parent and was a tutor/mentor with the foster grandparent program for Wilkes County Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Porter; brothers, William Hoosier, June Dowell and Jimmy Parks; and aunt, Cora Moore.

Survivors include: sons, William Hoosier, Alan Hoosier and wife Tammy, Tim Hoosier and Scott Hoosier; daughter, Brenda Hoosier Loredo and husband Romulo; grandchildren, Santana Cockerham, William Junior Hoosier, Brittany Hoosier, Sada Frazier, Shableaka Frazier, Cody Hoosier, Brandon Loredo and Nevaeh Hoosier; great-grandchildren, Cashious Cockerham, Tavian Cockerham, Adrian Cockerham, Jordan Cockerham, Brikinna Gilmore, Sariyah Frazier, Aubree Hoosier, Iziah Hoosier, Joziyah Frazier; nephew, Shawn Parks, and special friends, Buster Brown, Mamma Mary (Mary Parks), Mary Cochran and husband Jessie and Mildred Welborn.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ralph Hampton and Rev. Chad Mann officiating.  Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
