Larry Ray Mason

Larry Ray Mason, age 51 of Roaring River, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 after a long fight with pancreatic cancer.  His work in this world is done, but he will not be forgotten.  Larry was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and has many trophies that attest to his great skill.  He enjoyed being in the woods, setting up that perfect hunting spot, or on the banks of a pond or river casting a line.  But most of all he loved the Lord with all his heart.

He was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Ronda, N.C. It was here in June of 2016 that he rededicated his life to God, and shortly after that joined the church.  Since that time, he was there every time the church doors were open and when his health allowed him to attend.  He loved his church, his Pastor, and his church family.  He stood many times and testified about God’s love and mercy, even as the cancer spread; Larry looked to heaven for his strength and guidance during these difficult and trying times.  He was a living witness to God’s miracles and mercy.

Larry has many friends and family members that love him, and will miss him greatly.  We so look forward to seeing you again, standing on the banks of the Jordan river, where you will be skipping rocks and waiting on the rest of us, we love you.  Your loving family, Katie, Riley and Jason Wagoner

Larry’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 20th, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Ronda, N.C. with Pastor Curtis Ponder, Preacher Chuck Stout and Pastor Garrett Bryant officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
