Billy Jack Southard

Mr. Billy Jack Southard, age 84, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 at his residence.  Mr. Southard was born January 30, 2018 in Surry County to Alvin Dixie and Myrtle Wall Southard.

Mr. Southard retired from the NC Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Division and attended Benham Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Mark Boyd Southard and two sisters, Sally Reynolds and Betty Cook.

Survivors include, his wife, Dolores Boyd Southard of the home, a son, Gregg Southard and wife Liza of Gibsonville, a brother, Donald Southard and wife Jean of High Point, a sister, Annie Ray and husband Thomas of Elkin, two grandchildren, Ashton Southard and husband, Douglas Everhart of Michigan, William Southard of Hubert, NC.  Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 12 noon at Benham Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Settle and Rev. Stuart Roten officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 – 12:00 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or to Benham Baptist Church.
