Clyde Sparks

Mr. Clyde Gratis Sparks, Sr., age 67, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018.  Mr. Sparks was born March 23, 1950 in Surry County to Ezra Arlie Reece and Dossie Bernice Haynes Sparks.

Mr. Sparks was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sparks was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Andrews and half-brother, Charles Sparks.

Survivors include: his wife, Priscilla Layell Sparks of the home; son, Clyde Gratis Sparks, Jr. of the home; daughters, Gratia Sparks Alley of Oakboro and Angela Sparks Trexler and husband Jeff of Rockwell; brothers, Richard Sparks and wife Shirley of State Road, Gary Sparks and wife Starr of Elkin and Jerry Sparks and wife Teresa of State Road; sisters, Barbara Meeks and husband Jim of Elkin, Bonnie Fowler and husband Tony of Kernersville and Brenda Hawks and husband Tracy of State Road; half-sister, Pansey Ballad of Statesville and grandchildren, Lauren, Madison, Devin and Sarina.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  State Road Pentecostal Holiness with Rev. Gary Tatum officiating.
