Betty Ray Marion

Mrs. Betty Ray Marion, age 85 passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Chatham Nursing and Rehab.  Mrs. Marion was born May 9, 1932 in Wilkes County to Claude W. and Bertha Gilliam Ray.

Mrs. Marion retired from the NCDOT and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Fred G. Marion; sisters, Hazel Ray, Ruth Potter and Anna Laura Burcham; and brothers, Phillip Ray and Roger Ray.

Survivors include: sister, Evon Lovett Parker of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Dodds and Rev. Joe Wood officiating.  The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 2:30 – 3:00 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
