Geraldine Smoot

Mrs. Geraldine Smoot, age 87 passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Smoot was born September 6, 1930 in Buncombe County to Joseph Garland and Grace Polsin Worley.

Geraldine was a member of Charity United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smoot was preceded in death by her husband, Rockford “Doc” Smoot; son, David Lee Smoot; daughter, Vivian Smoot; brother, Garfield Worley and granddaughter, LeeAnn Royal.

Survivors include: son, Dewey Kenneth Smoot and wife Kathy of N. Wilkesboro; sisters, Gladys Cooper of N. Wilkesboro, Jewel Shumate of Wilkesboro and Beatrice Worley of N. Wilkesboro and granddaughter, Laura Royal.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Elkin Funeral Service from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  A memorial service will be conducted at later date.
