Lowgap,
Mrs. Gelene Bartley McKnight age 81, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. McKnight was born April 5, 1936 in Surry County to Kyle and Margie Richardson Bartley.
She was the owner-operator of M&M Textiles in Lowgap, and Attended Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by a brother, Julius Bartley, and a grandson Robby McKnight.
Survivors include: husband James Wesley McKnight of the home; sons, Kyle McKnight also of the home, Stanford Lowe and wife Elizabeth, Charles McKnight, and Richard McKnight all of Lowgap; daughters, Marian “Tootsie” Galyean of Lowgap, and Sandra Church and husband Jentry of Ridgeway Va.; one sister Gertrue Bare and husband Buddy of Lowgap; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a very special friend Leonard Hodges.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at Roaring Gap Baptist Church in Lowgap with Rev. Robert Farmer and Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Fishers Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Roaring Gap Primitive Baptist Church in Lowgap.
