Mr. John Marshall Durham, age 88, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Durham was born May 25, 1929 in Surry County to Herbert Victor Durham and Ruby Royal Durham.  He was the owner of Auto Parts Supply, a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was an active member of Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church in Jonesville where he served as a greeter for many years.  Mr. Durham was a member of The Gideon’s and a volunteer with the Feed the Elderly program and through the Foster Grandparent Program was a volunteer at Oak Grove Head Start.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Lewis Durham and brother, Howard Durham.

Survivors include: son, Dennis Durham and his wife Teresa Durham of Roaring Gap; daughter, Lisa Mishoe and her husband Rev. Eddie Mishoe of Asheboro; sister, Ima Ruth Weatherman of Jonesville; grandchildren, Ryan Mishoe, Andrea Willard, Amy Davenport, Joseph Durham and Astrid Durham and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Greg Runner and Rev. Eddie Mishoe officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.

The family requests that memorials be made to Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 258 W. Main Street, Jonesville, NC 28642.

The family would like to thank  Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital , especially the ICU and 3rd floor doctors and staff for their care.
