Carolyn J. Roten

Mrs. Carolyn Joseline Roten, age 72, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Chatham Nursing and Rehab.  Mrs. Roten was born November 27, 1945 in Surry County to Noah Lee Wagoner and Leola Luffman Wagoner.

Mrs. Roten was a member of Gordon Baptist Church and retired from American Drew.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roten was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Roten; three brothers, Thurman Wagoner, Garland Wagoner and Gary Wagoner; and three grandchildren, Dustin Sebastian, Holly Nevaeh Royal and Justin Allen Royal.

Survivors include: sons, Barry Cox and wife Teresa of Elkin and Ted Cox and wife Kimberly of Columbus, SC.; two daughters, Betty Jo Sebastian of Jonesville and Lisa Baldwin of Thurmond; two brothers, Earl Wagoner and wife Maxine of Elkin and Jerry Wagoner and wife Peggy of Elkin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Gordon Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Larry Adams officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
