Mary Hutchins

Mrs. Mary Ellen Gardner Hutchins, age 96, passed away Wednesday, November, 15, 2017.  Mrs. Hutchins was born April 10, 1921 in Surry County to John and Molly Dunbar Gardner.

Mrs. Hutchins was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hutchins; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: one son, Arthur “Art” Allen Hutchins and wife Kathy of Maryland; one daughter, Lucy Vestal and husband Jerry of State Road; five grandchildren, Cheryl, Jeff, Chris, David and Ryan; four great grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, Katlin and Kenneth; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
