Mrs. Robin Lynn Poteat Popiolkowski, age 63, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017. Mrs. Popiolkoski was born February 26, 1954 in Wilkes County to Richard and Helen Warren Poteat.
Robin was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church and served as a nursing aid for Hospice. Robin was a very loving, caring and giving person. Throughout her life she demonstrated her love not only to her family and friends, but, also to people she did not know or only met by coincidence. On many occasions Robin would see a family or children in need and would spontaneously give generously to assist them. Robin enjoyed sponsoring families and children during Christmas time to provide gifts and food during the holidays. Her love for mankind was equaled only by her love of animals, especially stray and abused animals. Robin was a supporter of ASCPA and animal shelters. When Robin would assist a family with food or gifts, she would also make sure the family pets were taken care of as well. Robin was truly a very loving and generous person to all and did most of her acts of love in secret and wanted no recognition for her kindness.
In addition to her parents, Robin was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Garvey and Louise Billings.
Survivors include: her husband, Alan Popiolkoswi of the home; one daughter, Emma Louise Popiolkowsi of Anaheim Hills, CA; one brother, Jim Poteat and wife Angela of North Wilkesboro; one sister, June Poteat of Roanoke, VA; one aunt, Velda Transou of Roaring Gap; three uncles, Dr. Holland Warren and wife Mary of Lynchburg, VA; Henry Warren and wife Frances of Clemmons and Earl Poteat and wife Becky of Traphill; one brother-in-law, Stanley Popiolkowski of Wales; and two sister-in-laws, Mandy Machin of Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trend and Sandra Heath of Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trend.
