Mrs. Maggie Perry Durham Key, age 76, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Key was born August 21, 1941 in Wilkes County to Orville Glenn Perry and Hazel Royal Perry.

Mrs. Key retired from Central Continuing Care Retirement Home of Mount Airy.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Durham Burchette; sister, Mary Jane Long; and brother, Arvil Perry.

Survivors include: son, Ricky Dwayne Durham and wife Betty of Elkin; son-in-law, Scott Burchett of Jonesville; special friend, Lewis Alvin Grinde of Mount Airy; brother, Ernest “Bud” Perry and wife Freida of Millers Creek; sister, Helen Perry Watkins and husband Fred of Millers Creek; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Arvil Glenn Perry officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
