Mr. Bramlet A. Spicer, age 91, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017. Mr. Spicer was born September 10, 1926 in Wilkes County to Alfred and Callie Norman Spicer.
Mr. Spicer was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 46 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Spicer was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Shepherd Spicer; one brother, Thomas Spicer; and three sisters, Ruby Tharpe, Mamie Evans and Mary Belle Thompson; and three half-brothers, Carlie Sawyer, Nick Sawyer and Claude Sawyer.
Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Spicer of the home; two daughters, Mildred Wilson and husband David of Swannanoa and Margaret Whitley and husband Bob of New Bern; step-daughter, Angie Rudisill and husband Ted of Ronda; step-son, Albert Darnell and wife Jane of State Road; one brother, Lonnie Spicer of Richlands; three grandchildren, Jamie Larson, Sarah Whitley and Amy Whitley; two step-grandchildren, Cody Darnell and Casondria Cheek; and two step great-grandchildren, Ayden Darnell and Ethan Darnell.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Cody Darnell and Rev. Keith Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Medi Home Health and Hospice 115 Atwood Street, Suite C, PO Box 1287, Sparta, NC 28675-9299.
The family would like to thank the Hospice staff, Dr. Evan Ballard at Jonesville Family Medical Center and Kena and Tammy with Hospice.
