Ted Collins

Mr. Ted Lee Collins, age 63, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Collins was born December 30, 1953, in Tarboro, NC to Dewey Collins and Mary Boone Collins.

Ted was a trusted and well-respected business owner of Triad Custom Painting in King, NC.  He valued the many relationships that were cultivated with his customers over the years.  His employees and their families were important people in his life.  They thought of him as a second father and lovingly referred to him as “Papa.”

In addition to his father, Ted was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Collins; special cousin, Jimmy Boone; and his faithful canine companion, Mattie Collins.

Survivors include: his wife of 21 years, Wendy Hinson; his treasured dog, Cassie Boone Collins; daughters, Amy Collins and  Angel Burger and husband Alan; mother, Mary Boone Collins; granddaughter, Emily Burger; grandson, Brandon Burger; brothers, Joe Collins, Wayne Collins and wife Patricia, Tom Collins and wife Kay, Bob Collins and wife Docha; sisters, Ann Spinks and husband Jerry, Kay Jaffe, Louise Alexander and husband Larry ; sisters-in-law, Marion Collins and Pat McKim; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be conducted Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Church of Christ in King, NC with Rev. Chuck Bower officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
