Thelma Fallin Deborde

Mrs. Thelma Fallin DeBorde, age 88, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Chatham Nursing and Rehab.  Mrs. DeBorde was born May 6, 1929 in Yadkin County to James Dallas Fallin and Gertis Williamson Fallin.

Mrs. DeBorde was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher.  Mrs. DeBorde was retired from Centel and worked with the after-school program at Elkin Elementary School for many years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeBorde was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Gordon DeBorde; grandson, Robert Shane Newman; and brother, J.D. Fallin.

Survivors include: son, Timothy DeBorde and wife Sharon; daughter, Sylvia DeBorde Nicholson and husband Audie; brothers, Ocie Fallin and wife Betty and Jimmy Fallin and wife Terrie; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
