Hazel Barker Blevins

Mrs. Hazel Barker Blevins, age 87, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Pruitt Healthcare of Elkin.  Mrs. Blevins was born October 26, 1929 in Wilkes County to Benjamin Harrison and Bertha Pruitt Barker.  She was a member of Benham Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music, watching NASCAR and the company of her pet cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Blevins; brothers, Cecil Barker, Luther Barker, James Barker, Ermal Barker and Benny Barker and sisters, Ethel Durham, Grace Barker, Pansy Barker, Flora Pardue and Mary Lee Welborn.

Survivors include: sons, Terry Blevins and his wife Barbara of Holly Springs, Tim Blevins and his wife Sandra of Elkin and Tony Blevins and his wife Allison of Elkin; brothers, Kenneth Barker and Rex Barker; grandchildren, Marcie Blevins, Adam Blevins and Clint Blevins and his wife Carly and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Daniel Settle and Rev. Elmer Barker officiating.  Burial will follow in Benham Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
