Jack Miller

Mr. Jack Andrew Miller, age 80, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017.  Mr. Miller was born February 4, 1937 in Surry County to Troy and Gladys Royal Miller.

Mr. Miller was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church.  Jack was a devoted husband, Christian, and friend.  Mr. Miller retired from Sparta Pipes after 34 years.  After his retirement, he worked for Normans Aluminum for 10 years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Miller.

Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Jean Miller of the home; sisters-in-law, Ercel Wagoner and husband Hubert of Sparta, and Irene Norman of State Road; niece, Debbie Johnson and children of Boonville; special nephew, Dollie and Debra Norman of State Road; and special cousin, Rose Marie Miller of Laurel Springs.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Llyod, Rev. Danny Royal, and Dollie Norman officiating.  Mr. Miller will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
