Cecil Aubrey Stanley

Mr. Cecil Aubrey Stanley, age 70, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Stanley was born February 2, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia to Edward and Ethel Marie King Stanley.

Mr. Stanley was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.   He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church.  Mr. Stanley retired from the United States Air Force after 25 years of service where he spent most of his career in Texas with international tours in Southeast Asia and Korea.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Wayne Stanley, Edward Stanley, and Stepson, Craig Ward.

Survivors include: his wife of 14 years, Priscilla “Dottie” Garris Stanley, of the home; sons, Denny Stanley of Las Vegas, NV, and Jimmy Stanley and wife Erin of Navarre, FL; daughter, Julie Stanley of Austin, TX; stepsons, Tracy Ward and wife Lisa of Ronda, and Kelly Ward of Roaring River; stepdaughter-in-law, Janine Ward of Hays; brothers, Jerry Lee Stanley and wife FeliCia of Waxahachie, TX, and Danny Stanley and wife Brenda of Sissonville, WV; sister, Joyce Ann Stanley-Rice of Jonesville; grandchildren, Luke Stanley, Jason Stanley, Taylor Stanley, LeAnn Ward, Matthew Ward, Ashley Ward, Dylan Ward, and Haley Ward; great grandchildren, Gracelynn Mae Ward and Malakai Jackson.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers the family will accept memorials be made to Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
