Mr. Chadwick “Chad” Brent Sowers, age 45, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017.He was born May 23, 1972 in Forsyth County to Stanley Bruce and Willa Nifong Sowers.
Chad was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He was a good Christian man and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Chad was a graduate of Appalachian State University where he played on Jerry Moore’s 1st championship football team. He was an avid sportsman and especially loved playing golf and was a volunteer coach for teams in the area. Chad was a member of Cedarbrook County Club and was the owner of Chad Sowers Jewelers in Jonesville. He was a well-known local businessman who took care of his customers and community. Chad had an infectious laughter and ever present smile that made everyone around him feel special. He was always positive and a true gentleman.
Mr. Sowers was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Bruce Sowers.
Survivors include: his wife, Jordan C. Sowers of the home; son, Jackson Gardner Sowers of the home; daughter, Caroline Spencer Sowers of the home; his mother, Willa N. Sowers of Midway; sister, Ashley Lay and husband Kevin of Winston-Salem; nieces, Alexandra Baker and husband Jeremy of Clemmons; nephews, Andrew Lay and wife Brittany of Clemmons and Carson Lay of Raleigh; father-in-law, William Clark of Whiteville; sister-in-law, Meredith Dear and husband Cory of Dallas, TX; step-father-in-law, John Hall, Jr and wife Colleen of Boonville.
A memorial service will be held, Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley and Rev. John Attaway officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund for Jackson and Caroline has been established at State Employees Credit Union, 426 CC Camp Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
Anyone that knew Chad, knows he always said “ Love you, brother.” We’ll see you soon.
