Libby Katherine Mastin

Mrs. Libby Katherine Vestal Mastin, age 81, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Mastin was born on February 13, 1936 in Wilkes County to Ira Harrison and Ethel Viginia Cooper Vestal.

Mrs. Mastin was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Matsin was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Shepard, and Bonnie Brewer; and her son, Ira Gerald Byrd.

Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Lee Mastin of the home; son, Danny Edward Byrd and wife Debbie of Ronda; step-sons, Donnie Mastin of Elkin and Brian Mastin of Elkin; daughter, Joyce Fraiser of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Jordan Byrd, Rebecca Benge, Paula Byrd, Angie Byrd; step-grandchildren, Amber Martin, Allison Mathis, Ashley Wencil, Joseph Mastin, Hailey Mastin, Kalyca Mastin; great grandchildren, Isabella Byrd, Noah Byrd, Caleb Byrd, and Evan Benge; step-great grandchildren, Riley Mathis, Emory Martin, and Eden Martin.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Russ Nixon officiating.

The family will accept flowers or memorials be made to Brenner’s Children Hospital 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
