Bill Duenkel

November 17, 1926 — May 20, 2017

Mr. William "Bill" Lee Duenkel, age 90, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Chatham Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Duenkel was born November 17, 1926 in Yadkin county. He retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and later was a school teacher in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William Lee Duenkel, Jr.

Survivors include: his wife, Faye M. Duenkel of Elkin; daughter, Pamela E. Voynitch and husband Alexander Voynitch III of West Jefferson; grandchildren, Rebekka Duggar and husband Justin, and Alexander Voynitch IV; great granddaughters, Oliva Duggar and Amelia Duggar; a special niece, Mary Ann Stanley and her husband Sonny of Elkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville.
