Karen Sprinkle Jennings

Mrs. Tonia Karen Sprinkle “Kay” Jennings, age 78, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Jennings was born June 10, 1938 in Surry County to Harold and Pauline Adams Sprinkle.

Kay was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin and retired from Belk Department stores where she enjoyed serving the public in the ladies department as a sales representative.  Kay loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her grandson Noah.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jennings, Sr.

Survivors include, a son, Ron Jennings Jr. and wife Tina of Elkin, a daughter, Tonya Smith and husband Michael of Ronda, a sister, Betty Caudle of Rockingham and a grandson, Noah Smith.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Elkin with Dr. Bill Johnson and Rev. Larry Jones officiating. The Family will receive friends following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Elkin, 110 Gwyn Avenue, Elkin, N.C. 28621.

The family would like to thank Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation for all of the love and care they gave Mrs. Jennings and the family over the past few years.
