Mrs. Annie Reba Nichols Pierce, age 87, went to her heavenly home to walk with her Savior and Lord Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Mrs. Pierce was born May 16, 1929 in Wilkes County to James Winfiel and Annie Viola Dancy Nichols.
Mrs. Pierce was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and was retired from Wilkes County Schools.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her daughter, Darla Jean Dancy Brown; brother, Rayburn “Bud” Nichols and sisters, Mary Belle Nichols Church and Eva Marie Nichols Whittington.
Survivors include: her husband, John Robert Lee Pierce of the home; sons, Johnny James Pierce of Traphill, Ricky Allen Dancy and wife Penny of Purlear, Larry Thomas Dancy of Millers Creek and Eddie Haskel Dancy and wife Joanne of North Wilkesboro; step-son, Larry Junior Pierce of Thurmond; daughters, Annie Lee Owens Pierce of Jonesville, Robin Annette Dancy Whittington of Purlear, Ramona Lynn Dancy Hutson and husband Allen of Boonville and Judy Ann Dancy Billings and husband Clyde of Traphill; step-daughter, Wanda Mae Pierce Royall of Elkin; brothers, Mailon “Monk” Nichols and wife Ella Mae of Taylorsville, Claude Nichols of Millers Creek and Bobby Nichols and wife Bronda of Millers Creek; thirty one grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bauguess and Rev. Richard Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
