Robert Percy Stonestreet

Mr. Robert Percy Stonestreet, age 96, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stonestreet was born November 24, 1920 in Wilkes County to Narvin Stonestreet and Della H. Holcomb.

Mr. Stonestreet was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was a member of Mountain Park Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Sunday School teacher, church secretary and choir member. Mr. Stonestreet retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 41 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Stonestreet; brothers, Garland Stonestreet and Bill Stonestreet.

Survivors include: his daughter, Hilda Wilmoth and husband Daniel of State Road; granddaughter, Danielle Wiles and husband Eric and great-grandchildren, Eric Daniel Wiles and Morgan Elise Wiles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Granville Branch and Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Park Baptist Church.
