Ms. Patsy Ann Holcomb, age 82, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 with her son Keith by her side at Golden Living Center in Mount Airy. Ms. Holcomb was born November 25, 1934 in Surry County to Clarence and Annie Brown Holcomb. She graduated Elkin High School in 1953 and Clevenger College of Business Administration in 1954. Ms. Holcomb was an active member of First Baptist Church of Elkin serving on the bereavement committee, member of the Eidson Circle, Rebecca-McCrae Sunday School Class, a “Garden Angel” working with the church fellowship garden and volunteered with Feed the Elderly. She spent her career as a Bookkeeper for Rose & Day, Yadkin Finance Company and retired from Elkin Valley Apparel, Inc.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Barry Holcomb and was the last living of nine siblings: Wilbur Holcomb, Harold Holcomb, Fred Holcomb, William “Bud” Holcomb, Ruby Haynes, Velda Holbrook, Helen Miller and Opal Hemric.
Survivors include: her son, W. Keith Holcomb of Charlotte; special friend, Sylvia Eidson of Elkin; longtime canine companion, Scooter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March, 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elkin with Rev. Justin Bell and Rev. Debbie Warren of Charlotte, NC officiating. Ms. Holcomb will lie-in-state from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

Keith would like to give a very special thanks to longtime friend Sylvia Eidson; special niece/daughter at heart, Cheryl Cothran; nephew Scott Miller and Debbie; neighbors June Spelman and Bobby Pardis; Melvin Byrd; staff at Child Care Resources Inc.; the First Baptist Church family and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care.
