Marie Bowers

Mrs. Marie Bowers, age 79, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Elkin Assisted Living. Mrs. Bowers was born on August 23, 1937 in Ashe County to Curney and Rosalee Benge Greer.

Mrs. Bowers retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alger Bowers; Four brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild, Hunnypot.

Survivors include: a daughter, Dianna Kennedy and husband Jason of Jonesville; granddaughter, Angela Rose and husband, Garriot.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Health Services, 200 Frontis Plaza Blvd. Suite 300, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
