Samuel "Sam" Lee Lawrence

Mr. Samuel “Sam” Lee Lawrence, age 65, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lawrence was born August 1, 1951 in Surry County to Bud and Mildred Edmonds Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy L. Wagoner; Brother-in-law, Jack Carter and special uncle, Harlow Edmonds.

Survivors include: his sister, Linda L. Carter of Elkin; nephews, Jacob Wagoner of Elkin and Jason Wagoner and wife Mary Anne of Hamptonville; great-nephews, Gatlin Wagoner, Jasper Wagoner and great-niece, Stella Wagoner.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1035 Crossroads Church Road, Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and the staff of Pruitt Healthcare for their care.
