Mrs. Violet Nadine Pardue went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Nadine was born to Frank and Cordie Livingston Mathis on August 5, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Russell Pardue and two daughters, Carol Jodine Pardue and Linda Pardue Ross.
Nadine gave her heart to the Lord when she was fifteen years old and served Him faithfully as long as her health permitted. She cared for countless nieces and nephews and a host of foster children. Heaven is sweeter because an angel has gone home. Nadine was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for 50 years and then a member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Mtn. Park until her passing.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Simmons and husband Sam of Thurmond, a son-in-law, Lawrence Ross of Hondo, TX, two brothers, Bruce Mathis and wife Ruby of Walkertown, Bobby Mathis and wife Sarah of King, two sisters, Frankie Smith and husband Calvin of Greensboro, Phillis Goodin of Missouri, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Greg Simmons and Elder Sam Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Healthcare and Elder Greg Simmons and his wife Nan for the love and care they gave to Mrs. Pardue during her illness.
