Nettie Nichols Norman

Mrs. Nettie Nichols Norman, age 72, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Norman was born April 12, 1944 in Montgomery County to Alonzo Hadin and Ella Mae White Nichols.

Mrs. Norman was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church and retired from Tultex and Surry Community College Knights Grill.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Harold Nichols and sister, Betty Jewel Cave.

Survivors include: her husband of 52 years Sam Norman, of the home; son, Chris Norman of Mountain Park; daughter, Susan Norman of Elkin; brother, Nicky Nichols and wife Cheryl of Elkin; sister, Nancy Ball and husband Howard of Jonesville; grandchildren, Samantha Norman, Grace Norman and Sage Norman; special friend, William King and special neighbors, Larry and Daisy Rector and Dorothy Hayes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel Preacher Mickey Brooks and Pastor Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
