Dustin Michael Bobbitt

Mr. Dustin Michael Bobbitt, age 19, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Dustin was born October 17, 1997 in Wilkes County to Eddie James Bobbitt and Kimberly Bedford Bobbitt.

Dustin was a 2016 graduate of Elkin High School and was a member of the JROTC and the wrestling team. Dustin was a volunteer firefighter at State Road Fire Department and a member of Mountain Park Rescue Squad. He was also a former member of Bikers for Kids. Dustin was of the Baptist faith.

Dustin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eddie Bert Bobbitt as well as many other family members.

Survivors include: father and mother, Eddie and Sarah Bobbitt of State Road; mother, Kimberly Bobbitt of N. Wilkesboro; Dustin’s fiancée; Sarah Smith of Traphill; his brothers, Eddie “Bubba” Bobbitt of State Road, Zachary Bobbitt of State Road, Nicholas Hall of State Road, Danny Byrd of Elkin, Justin Redd of Elkin and Pheonix Collins of State Road; sisters, Kaitlin Bobbitt of State Road and Natalia Hall of State Road; step grandparents, Tim and Janet Nicholas of Traphill; special grandparents, Mickey and Dottie Cockerham of Elkin; paternal grandmother, Debbie Call of N. Wilkesboro; maternal grandmother Betty Bobbitt of Elkin and very cherished niece Allie Bobbitt of State Road.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Charlie Kennedy and Rev. Jackie Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with firefighter’s honors provided by State Road Fire Department. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
