James "Jay" Culler

Mr. James Eugene “Jay” Culler, age 72, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Culler was born March 23, 1944 in Watauga County to Lloyd James and Louise Church Culler.

Mr. Culler owned and operated Culler Mortuary Transport Service until retiring.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Anderson Culler of the home; son, David Culler and Monica Shepherd of N. Wilkesboro; daughter, Gina Hart and husband Keith of Millers Creek; brother, Benny Culler and wife Sherry of China Grove; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Arvil Hardy and Rev. Ronnie McMillan officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
