Kenneth Charles Brown

July 19, 1943 — November 18, 2016

Mr. Kenneth Charles Brown, age 73, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1943 in Surry County to Joel and Ruth Snow Brown.  Mr. Brown was a carpenter for many years and retired from American Drew.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a classic car enthusiast.  Mr. Brown was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn W. Brown; sister, Retha B. Pinnix and brother, Terell Brown.

Survivors include: son, Michael Brown of Elkin; daughter, Cheryl Blackburn and her husband Darryl of State Road; sister, Mary Gregory of Hamptonville; foster brother, Dwight Burchette of Dobson; brothers-in-law, Gary West and his wife Joyce of Roaring River and Danny Pinnix of Ronda; grandchildren, Dalton Blackburn and Cortney Blackburn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00p.m. at  Oak Level Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Holyfield and Rev. Bob Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
