Charles Lee Durham

Mr. Charles Lee Durham, age 75, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Mr. Durham was born December 30, 1940 in Wilkes County to Herbert and Ethel Barker Durham.

Mr. Durham was a member of the Church in the Wildwood. He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed golf and motorcycles. Mr. Durham was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his half-sister, Blanche D. Colbert.

Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Nonnie W. Durham of the home; sons, Michael Durham and wife Kathy of Roaring River and Rodney Durham and wife Shannon of Elkin; grandsons, Anthony Durham and wife Dana, Andrew Durham and wife Shelia and Daniel Durham; great-grandchildren, Bradyn and Cam.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Byrd and Rev. Elmer Barker officiating. Burial will follow at Benham Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
