Nancy Barker Carter

Mrs. Nancy Barker Carter, age 74, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 in her home. She was born December 17, 1941 in Surry County to Homer and Myrtle Pruitt Barker. Mrs. Carter was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Carter and sister, Joann Marsh.

Survivors include: her daughter, Amanda Wall and her husband Tommy of State Road; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Lawrence and her husband Cecil, Carolyn Williamson and her husband Kim and Judy Shelton and her husband Lonnie; grandchildren, Shane Wall and his wife Emily and Ethan Wall; and great grandchildren, Jayda Wall and Alex Wall.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
